ENCHANT
Bridal and Flowergirls
With an intense passion for all things fashion, I’ve been involved in this industry since 2000. Through my Fashion Designer Portfolio, I aim to showcase timeless and alluring garments for the world to enjoy. Although this has been a lifelong interest of mine, I only recently joined the industry as a professional. My style is classy yet edgy, and I aim to inspire savvy and fashion-forward people around the world.

I was intrigued by the idea of combining children and women together in one collection. I originally had ideas for an avant garde and crazy collection for bridal, but the biggest reason for change was determining whether or not the looks would work in the industry. For Enchant, wanted a look that was royal, whimsical, and the clothing should reflect the personality of the wearer. I chose to focus on women ages 20-35 and little girls ages 4-6. I focused on the young designer price point because women often sacrifice the dress or sacrifice on another important aspect of their wedding in order to pay for the dress. I was lead by the questions “how easily can they get in and out of it?”, “can they get in and out themselves?”, “can they go to the bathroom easily?”, and “will it show their personality?”.
For the bride and bridesmaids, I created a onesie with boning and cups. It buttons in the back and has snaps at the crotch for easy access to the bathroom and getting in and out. The onesie would be offered in different colors and patterns to also fit different budgets. I designed a mermaid skirt for the bride, half-calf skirt for the bridesmaid, and a bell bottom pant for both. All attachable looks are interchangeable with a simple zipper and contoured waistband. If either of the women wants to change or go to the bathroom, it would be simple as to just remove the bottom and unsnap the onesie. I included a shoulder cover for the bride as well to cover more skin for the ceremony and show how the looks can be altered at the top, not just the bottom.
For the flower girls, I focused on the same questions as for the women, but had to focus on having more variations. I contacted my boyfriend’s sisters who are 8, 6, and 3 years old to talk to them about their clothing. In my collection, I wanted to show each of their distinct personalities. Sophie, is the oldest and wants to be like the adults so I gave her a fitted pant with the clip on skirt so she can dance like the adults. Natalie is the wild-child, so I gave her the little pant. Charlie is the youngest and acts like the queen, so I gave her a flower girl look that was fit for a little queen. Weddings are often boring and the clothing is uncomfortable for small children, but I hoped that the young lady would enjoy it more if she got to pick her own looks and her own matching pattern.
I would like to continue this collection for the future and create more attachments for the women. I created a simple watercolor floral pattern that seemed to me to be enchanting and simple as to not distract from the shapes of the looks.
